The idea to establish SSEU Technology Park – an institution carrying out the effective innovation management through the interaction of intellectual and financial investors with industrial enterprises was caused first of all by development tendencies in modern societies: a necessity to speed economic growth as Russia is entering the highly competitive global economy, especially while changing from a traditional industrial economy deriving from raw materials to an economy with a major innovational component. All this is very challenging especially for HEI activity, as universities and scientific research institutes contribute a lot into the development of the country’s innovation potential.

The current importance of establishing Technology Park in the Economic University is conditioned by the fact that the most part of already functioning innovative structures of Samara region are targeted at commercialization of HEIs technical projects. However Technology Park is aimed not only at intensifying the competition but the mutual collaboration of innovation centers. SSEU Technology Park’s objective is high quality and effective commercialization of both the projects of external customers (also of technological character) and University own projects – through selling educational and application programs introducing progressive economic technologies due to the organizational, economical and legal support of innovation projects at all the stages of the innovation cycle - from the moment of an idea’s emergence to the final stage of penetrating into the market – commercialization.
